Amazon and its Point of Sale Terminal

Apple started it, selling us a point of sale terminal, but they focus on the products, the devices.  Amazon has made it far more interesting by focusing on the device purposes, the services that the tablet’s owner use and more importantly, purchase.  Check out the statistics referenced in a recent GeekWire article http://bit.ly/18SDJtl. An Amazon customer with a Kindle spends 55% more than an Amazon customer without a Kindle, confirming that at least Amazon is selling its customers point of sale terminals.  Amazon has made it easier to buy more stuff via a nifty, content rich, device.  With 40% ($443 annually on average) http://bit.ly/J1qufD of their customers owning a Kindle, that adds up fast considering the number of customers, the leading Android tablet entertains, and then sells products.  And it is the most popular device for children.

Wonder how the other device makers are going to complete over the long term?
